Cacheman is a Windows software designed to speed up your computer by optimizing several caches, managing RAM and fine tuning a number of system settings. Auto-Optimization makes it suitable for novice and intermediate users yet it is also powerful and versatile enough for computer experts. Backups of settings ensure that all user modifications can be reversed with a single click. Unlike other tuneup utilities, Cacheman runs as a system service, minimizing resource usage and tweaking Windows at system-level. Cacheman runs on Windows XP, Vista, 7 x86|x64.

Fix slow downs, lag, and stuttering in computer games

Cacheman can fix slow downs, lag, and stuttering in computer games including World of Warcraft (WoW), Call of Duty (CoD), and Star Wars – The old Republic (SWTOR). Cacheman will give more CPU power and make more memory (RAM) available to the game. Slow downs, lag, and stuttering in computer games is often caused by background process activity. For example, a background Virus-Scan performed by an Anti-Virus program can significantly slow down the computer.

Cacheman will dynamically regulate the priority of background processes (Anti-Virus programs, system services, Windows-Update installations) if they take too much CPU processing power. The front running application (in this case the computer game) will get a significant boost. Cacheman will also ensure that applications leaking (wasting) computer memory will not take away resources from the game. The dynamic priority feature is already pre-configured and works from the start.

Faster Computer

Cacheman LogoIn an ideal world your computer should not get slower over time. You know, though, that this utopian vision is a far cry from reality. The more applications you start, the slower it gets.Have you ever tried to cure the problem by frequent rebooting or even a complete reinstall of Windows?

Windows 7 compatibleInstead of reinstalling your machine, consider Cacheman to get a faster computer within few minutes. Cacheman is an application designed to enhance computer speed and stability by optimizing caches, tweaking Windows, managing memory and fine tuning system settings!

The first Windows performance optimization software ever!

The initial internet incarnation of Cacheman was introduced in early 1997 as the first Windows optimization application ever released. 14 years and millions of downloads later Cacheman is available as Version 7, fully supporting Windows XP/Vista and especially designed for Windows 7. In its rich history Cacheman has been prized by almost every computer magazine world-wide.

Speeding up Computer

Cacheman offers a one-click Auto-Optimize feature which will examine your computer and apply automatically best settings and system tweaks in order to improve performance and stability. You can also speed up your computer for a specific task by selecting individual Auto-Optimization profiles like Gaming Computer or Notebook | Netbook.

Manage running Applications

Cacheman can also display a list of loaded Windows processes (Applications and System Services) along with detailed information including RAM usage. Cacheman can remove crashed applications from memory, even in situations where the task manager fails to do so! Right click the name of the application and select Kill Process to remove a non responding application from memory within a second. Other Application Management functions include lowering the RAM usage of a process, bringing the app window to front or opening Explorer with the installation folder of the selected process.

Improve your Computer by Optimizing Cache

A Computer Cache is a special high-speed storage mechanism. If requested data is present in a cache, it can be delivered faster. Cacheman can improve your computer by tweaking cache components. You can use Auto-Optimize to get the best tweaks for all Cache parameters. Alternatively every tweak can be configured manually.

Can Cacheman speed up every Computer?

Cacheman is easy enough for novices to use, yet powerful enough for advanced users. It offers something for everyone to speed up any Windows Computer. Try Auto-Optimization and let Cacheman take the wheel, performing the most often

needed tweaks to get your computer back up to speed. Take control by defining specific apps that should receive priority when the system allocates RAM, or impose a limit on the amount of memory that a specific app is allowed to use!

A memory leak occurs when a program consumes RAM but is unable to release it back to the operating system. In the worst case the computer will slow down unacceptably due to hard disk thrashing (increased Paging File usage). Cacheman can cure the symptons of a memory leakage. If you encounter an application that is leaking memory (by looking carefully at the Cacheman information tab) you can fix the problem by changing the maximum amount of memory the leaking application is allowed to consume.

Windows Tweaks

Cacheman allows you to tweak and customize the user interface of the Windows operating system. The tweaks are spread over several sections and include visualization, security and stability settings. You can also change Autoplay options, set Windows to auto-login to your computer without the need to type a password or start a wizard to optimize the text display. If you are unsure about tweaking options, just use Auto-Optimization and Cacheman will configure all settings for you.

What is a Computer Cache?

A Computer Cache (pronounced kash) is a software or hardware component that stores user data so that future requests for that data can be served faster. If requested data is contained in the cache, it can be delivered by reading the cache, which is considerably faster compared to retrieval from the original storage location. Hence, the more data can be served from the cache the faster the overall system performance is. Cacheman is tweaking several cache components on your computer.

Changes in 7.50:
Dynamic Priority
Cacheman will dynamically lower the priority of background applications that use a lot of processing power. The application that is active will run faster this way. You can exempt a specific application from this feature by configuring a Sticky Priority.
Improvements to existing profiles (including new descriptions)
Extended Basic Profile
New profile: Windows 7 Tablet optimization
This profile improves user interface responsiveness on several Windows 7 tablet computers including Asus Eee EP121, Samsung Sliding 7, Viliv X70 and the Lenovo U1 Hybrid.
New Tweaks
Six new Skins
Support added for Intel LGA 2011 processors (Core i7-3820, Core i7-3930K and Core i7-3960X)
Support added for AMD Phenom II X4 650(T), 850 and 980 processors
Greatly improved support for non western languages (Japanese, Chinese etc.)
